Fire Station Field Trip

For our last field trip for our little preschool we went to the fire station on Joiner Parkway and it was awesome. The guys showed us everything and the kids totally loved it. Davis has been dying to go ever since he saw the station and so he was super excited.

Gabbie loved being in the driver seat and was the only kid to start pushing buttons right away. Great, Gabbie.

At the end of the tour, each of the kids got to spray the firehose. There was a cone set up that they had to knock over. They all loved it.

Davis was eyeing that bell and couldn't wait to ring it so much that this is the best shot I got of the both of them. =)
Thank you Fireman Pete and Fireman Al!!!

Italia -- Florence, Roma

We only had an afternoon in Florence. We'll definitely need to go back. We saw the bridges and ran through Ufizzi Gallery. Amazing.
Then, it was off to Rome. Our apartment manager, Toni, took us to an amazing restuarant an we were there until almost midnight eating and chatting with him.

The next day we saw the sights with our guide, Nicoletta. She was awesome. We saw the Pantheon (above), Trevi Fountain (below -- which was just a block from where our apartment was), ...

Then, we were off to the Forum and the Coliseum. Amazing. I'm still trying to grasp the concept of walking in the same places of ANCIENT ROME!!!

Italia -- Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre was our next stop and one my favorites. We hiked, biked, and ate some yummy focaccia (potato was my fave). We stayed in Riomaggiore, the most southern of the 5 cities. Our 2nd night we bought local food and had dinner out on our terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. It doesn't get any better than that.
I loved stopping by the markets to get our breakfast and lunch before we set off for the day.

Italia -- Milano, Lake Como

We just got back from a fabulous trip to Italy that we will never forget! It was perfect. Bob's parents watched the kiddos--THANK YOU!--and we took off to Italia. Bonjourno!! We landed in Milano and hit the ground running. We flew with my parents and then met up with my sister and brother and their spouses.
My first gelato of many. So yummy.

We stayed our first 2 nights in Varenna on Lake Como. Our villa was amazing and walking around the charming town and eating pizza and gelato was the best. And that was just the beginning...The next day the ladies took a cooking class from Chef Mareno. We learned how to make fresh pasta, gnocchi, risotto, and tortelloni. We tasted everything, of course, and it was amazing, of course.Later, we took a walk up to a castle on the hill and I couldn't help taking this picture of a little door on the side of the road. I found myself taking tons of pictures of little walkways, alleys, nooks... Everything was so gorgeous and charming.

Gabbie's 2!!

Last month, Gabbie turned 2! Crazy huh?! She's such an awesome little girl and we love her more than anything!! We're so glad she's ours. =)
