Cousins

Lauren and Chase came over to play the other day and had fun in our bed. Gabbie is not sure what to make of all of it, but everyone else seems to be having a great time!! Love the face, Chase. =) LOL

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Gabbie was very festive in this outfit for Valentine's Day. While it's starting to warm up, we still needed to put on a long-sleeve shirt underneath to help keep her arms warm. Davis is already asking for the pool and to go swimming. We got some kids' goggles at Costco (a little early I know), so he's been asking ever since.

Our Valentine's Day was really fun. We decided to stay in rather than wait 2 hours plus for a dinner out on the town. I made a Rachael Ray recipe, Sexy Surf and Turf with asparagus and roasted potatoes (and I substituted the scallops for shrimp; and the sweet vermouth for beef stock). We actually got to eat uninterrupted while the Davis watched "Rudy" and Gabbie watched for a little and then played with toys. Davis had his football in hand and Bob's bike helmet on his head. He would hit it occasionally like the players do in the movie -- he was trying to psyche himself up for the big play. =) Then, off to bed went the kids and we enjoyed some homemade chocolate-dipped strawberries and sparkling cider. When I went to the store I forgot I was in the minority when I thought all the sparkling cider would be gone, especially since I was shopping the day of. It only took me a few seconds to realize that there would be plenty there for us to enjoy. =)
We also got to enjoy some tunes on our new ipod-sync speakers that Bob got for us (I don't actually know what they are called exactly -- sorry). =)
It was a really simple low-key night. I think now that we have the kiddos we have come to appreciate those more. We should definitely not wait until the next special occasion to do it again! =)
Happy Valentine's Day!!

Change is always good.....right?

So, it's taken me a week to post it, but we had a realignment of wards in the Lincoln area and we were affected by it. They realigned 3 wards and then created a 4th ward. There are actually 5 wards in total because there is a Spanish branch (but they aren't affected by boundary changes).
Anyway, so we were but in the 3rd ward and were really sad to leave. We weren't the only ones, so we saw some familiar faces and were happy to see them. We were so close though to still be in the 2nd ward and even to be in the 1st ward. Our house is the boundary on both sides it seems like. We look across Ferrari Ranch and there is 2nd ward, and we look across the future highway bypass and there is 1st ward. .... Crazy. It is nice to be able to get to church in 5 minutes instead of 20 (well 15 really when I was driving). =) But, it was kind of a low blow to find out we would be meeting at 8:30 am AGAIN!! For those of you who know me well, you will be praying for me this whole year to have to get up that early. I never thought I would say this, but 8:30 am is great for the kids. We are home in time for a good lunch and naptimes. But, oh man, getting up is somethin' else.
But, we did it and are excited to get to know some more people in Lincoln. I thought I would be more open and understanding, but I'll be honest, it might take a little longer. But, I just have to keep thinking - "Go and Do." Go where we are asked and Do what we are asked. I'm sure we'll still keep in touch with all of you even though we won't see each other every week. Thanks so much for being awesome!!

Our Favorite from Flight of the Conchords

Press PAUSE on the playlist on the bottom of the page and check this out!
Our favorite is "Jenny." "Most Beautiful Girl in the Room" (Dave's Party) is also pretty hilarious. Beware: Not all their stuff is clean. View at your own risk. =)

My Helper with the Dishes

She climbed up there on her own. What a crazy girl. I love that smile! =) She's tuned into the dishwasher. Whenever she hears me loading or unloading she comes crawling over. What a mover and a shaker!

Animal Lover

I went into Davis' room to find him playing with his animals. He really loves them -- especially those horses. He's so funny.
Animal Parade =)

Stowaways

Davis and Gabbie wanted to go back to Washington when we got home. They had a blast with their cousins! =)

Just for Fun!

While I was home for Christmas, my sister, Amy, sister-in-law, Lauren, and I decided it would be fun to try on our wedding dresses just for fun... just to see how we are doing. =) Not bad, huh?! Suck it in!!!! =)
