Now I can't get her to stop!

So, just a few weeks ago Gabbie decided she wanted to be a big girl and be done with nursing!! FREEDOM!! =) But before that I couldn't get her to eat more than 5 bites of food. It would even start with her freaking out everytime I put her in the highchair. Well, she's done a 180 and can't get her to stop now. Here's picture of her first jar of food that she completely finished in one sitting. It was very exciting! And thankfully, she likes the high chair. Hallelujah!!

Gabbie's Walking!!

She's taken lots of little steps to and from pieces of furniture, but last night she walked across our whole living room! She was so cute! I don't know how to put video on here, yet, so if you have any tips let me know and I can show you her cuteness. She tucks her arms in and kind of walks sideways. And all of this with a HUGE beaming smile on her face. She even clapped for herself after I started clapping. So pleased with herself. =)

I just got Tagged!

So, thank you Tami for the opportunity to embarass myself. j/k This was fun, actually. And I always love hearing everybody else's, so here's to hoping I'm as interesting as the rest of you. =)

10 YEARS AGO: I was finishing up the basketball season my junior year in high school. tee-hee-hee. We went to post-season play, but lost right before going to the state tourney. I was looking forward to the tennis season where we would go undefeated (except Bellarmine - I wasn't able to beat them until my senior year. How sweet it was). And then to top it all off I had my very first boyfriend. =)

5 THINGS ON MY TO-DO LIST:
1. Laundry - wash, fold, put away (all in the same day would be a miracle)
2. Clean bathrooms - always on my list because it's my least favorite so I leave it until the last
3. Figure out what I'm going to make for dinner
4. Catch up in my journal
5. Paint the downstairs bedroom

5 SNACKS I ENJOY:
1. Chips and Salsa and/or Guacamole
2. Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream Potato Chips - so tempting EVERY time I'm at the store
3. Popcorn
4. Pineapple (fresh)
5. Carrots and Salad Dressing

5 PLACES I'VE LIVED:
Lincoln, Rocklin, San Ramon, CA, Provo,UT, Lacey, WA, Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany (thanks, Mom - I didn't know how to spell it!) =)

WHAT WOULD I DO IF I SUDDENLY BECAME A BILLIONAIRE:
Do all the smart stuff and then TRAVEL - I would want to go back to Europe first since I haven't been since I was born.

5 JOBS I'VE HAD:
Youth Sports Coordinator at American Fork Recreation Dept., Tennis Coach at American Fork High School, Activity Supervisor at BYU Intramurals, Receptionist and Janitor at Dad's dental office - best job in the world!!!

5 THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME:
1. I'm crazy about dancing and wish I was really good. I eat up all the dancing shows that are out there. Right now we're watching "America's Best Dance Crew" on MTV. I've always wanted to be a fly girl (remember they used to be called that)/dancer in a music video - Janet Jackson preferred =) My sister Megan and I used to learn dances from videos and then do them at our stake dances. =) Good times.

Can we build it? Yes, WE CAN!!

This was SO MUCH FUN! My mom was in town last week and we were trying to solve my organization issues. I thought of buying a bookcase to put in the closet, but then I thought it would be really cool to maximize the space and have shelves built. My mom and I were talking about it and we thought, "Well, why don't we just do it!" So, I called Home Depot to see if they could cut the wood for us and they said they could, so we proceeded to measure out the closet space and how far apart we wanted the shelves, where they would go, etc. Anyway, we then went to Home Depot with both my kids and had someone cut the wood for us. I'm sure the workers there thought we were crazy. They kept on saying, "Good luck." I think they underestimated us. =) The whole time we were drilling in the supports I was giggling because I couldn't believe we were actually doing it!!! =) So, here is the finished product and I couldn't be happier. When I called Bob to tell him what we were up to he was very cool about it. I'm sure he thought I was crazy, too. =) I think he liked the outcome as well.
We also went to IKEA and picked up this table top and legs and chair. It was very easy to put together and it fits nicely in the space. We were using a card table before and there wasn't enough room for the laptop AND the printer. Now there is and we got a lamp, too!!
We already had this shelving unit, but the top shelves were holding some office supplies. So, we put all the office supplies in the newly built shelves and that left room to put all the kids' toys in this room. We bring them out in the living room to play with, but we always put them back at the end of the day. It's amazing how a little organization can help. As long as I keep this up I'll feel less stressed about how my house looks. And I'm always about maximizing our space!! I just needed a place for everything and for everything to have it's place. =)

P.S. Aren't you proud, Amy?!
