Triathlon and Swimming in September?!?!?!

I joined a bunch of girlfriends for the super-sprint triathlon the last weekend in August. It was a ton of fun doing it with everyone: training and cheering each other on!!This will probably be the last time we bring the kids, though. It's much too early for them and to see their mommy keep running by without stopping is just way too tramatic, I guess. This is what welcomed me after the finish. I had to get a picture. It was just too funny.
Who would have thought we would've been able to swim in September?!?! It's great, too, because the other kids are in school so we pretty much have both pools to ourselves. These pictures are from earlier in the month, but we were just there this last Friday. It was perfect. We stayed for like 4 hours and couldn't get enough. Davis wanted to stay, but I thought we had had enough sun for the day. I'm anxious for cooler weather, but it was nice to be able to enjoy the pool just a little bit more.

Swim Lessons!

Davis had swim lessons at the McBean Pool last month and really loved it. Swimming is his thing. We've tried other activities before, but he has loved swimming the best!! He was shy at first, but once he got used to the different pool and met his teachers... (and I threw him in), he was fine. =) He's a natural, too. It really made my day when I saw him enjoying himself and doing a good job.

He had no fear with the diving board!

GOOD JOB, DAVIS!!!

Go RiverCats!

We decided to take advantage of our local sports scene and went to one of the final home games of the Sacramento RiverCats. We just got the outfield lawn tickets and still really enjoyed it since the ball park isn't too big.
Gabbie enjoying the game.

We tried to reassure him it wasn't too loud, but he didn't trust us, I guess.

Having fun on the hill.

Davis heard I was taking family photos for my sister and her family, so he wanted a little photo shoot of himself. I couldn't convince him to come outside, so the front doorway had to suffice.
Here's Gabbie wanting to do whatever her older brother is doing. I love her new haircut. It suits her very well.

Here are just a few highlights. I've decided I need some better editing software if I want to make these look really good. I'm glad they were willing to work with an amatuer.

More Washington Fun

One day we went to the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma. We got to see some fun animals, but I need to remember to go in the morning when they are a bit more active. Plus, it was a warm day. I don't think those animals are quite used to it, so we saw a few lounging in the shade rather than putting on a show for us. We still had a lot of fun with cousins!
They had camel rides! It was a lot of fun -- pretty bumpy. Davis was excited at first, but decided at the last minute he would just watch from outside the fence. Gabbie really liked it.

Here are Gabbie and Grace, ie: "partners-in-crime", in one of their calmer times having a little tea party.

Jacob and Davis joined in (Davis is hiding from the camera), and Sarah was their "hostess with the mostest."
